a)DIGITAL CLASS ROOM
The digital turn in education has been described across a wide range of initiatives and processes. These include the introduction of digital tools and gadgets as a part of the learning environment, building digital archives and repositories of learning. Keeping in consonance with the present digital world, Silapathar College has installed digital classrooms to partially replace traditional classroom teaching for benefit of the students.
b)VIRTUAL CLASS ROOM
Silapathar College has a hi-tech state of the art Virtual class room. It will help develop new tools to enrich course-work, enhance flexibility, and attract the best students and faculty. Virtual class room lets institutions of higher education reach students anywhere, anytime, by blending fully interactive and recordable audio, video, and web conferencing capabilities. With these proven, powerful tools, educational institutions can extend the walls of their classrooms in both space and time, and bring the rest of the world to their campuses.
c)MULTIPURPOSE GYMNASIUM
Multipurpose Gymnasium is constructed under Sports Infrastructure Grants UGC of XII plan period with state of the art facilities.
d)HEALTH CARE CENTRE
The college has a Health Care Centre with essential infrastructure and first aid medicines to promote physical, mental & social well being of the students. A part time physician and a nurse have been appointed for health check up. The college intends to provide health care information and become an important source of services for faculty, staff and students of the college. Besides for maintaining proper sanitary hygiene of the girl students, Sanitary Napkin Pad Incinerator installed at Girls’ Common Room and Women’s Hostel.
e)MINI MUSEUM
To show case the rich traditional and cultural heritage of the tribal and indigenous people of the North East, Silapathar College had established a mini museum under the UGC sponsored Tribal Study Centre in 2007.
f)VERMI COMPOST
The college has also started to recycle bio-waste by forming Vermi Compost Units in the college. Vermi composting is the process of using earthworms to turn organic wastes into very high-quality compost. The worm casts contain five times more nitrogen, seven times more phosphorus and 11 times more potassium than ordinary soil, nutrients essential for healthy plant growth.
g)LANGUAGE LAB
The college has a fully air-conditioned 31 plus computers Language Lab with video conferencing facility. The students are given free access.
h)SCIENCE LABORATORY
The college has well established Science Laboratory with latest equipments.
i)WOMEN’S HOSTEL
The college has a Girls’ Hostel with adequate amenities. Students seeking seats in the hostel must fill in a separate Hostel Admission Form obtainable from the college office which have to be submitted within stipulated time.
All boarders must abide by the following rules and regulations:
(i) The boarders must maintain decent, dignified and disciplined principle of life in and outside the hostel.
(ii) No visitor is allowed to meet any boarder without the permission of the hostel superintendent.
(iii) Use of mobile phone is normally not allowed.
(iv) All boarders must follow the mess rules in force in the hostel.
(v) Violation of hostel rules will be seriously treated as punishable offence which may lead to expulsion from the hostel as well as the college.
(vi) Damage of hostel property caused by any boarder will attract punishment along with charging of compensation. Depending upon the nature and reason of damage, she may be expelled from the hostel as well as the college.
