THE COLLEGE EMBLEM

The uneven wheel that dominates the college emblem with black spot in it stands for unequal progress and dynamism of civilization. The burning lamp (pradip) amidst darkness (black spot) within the wheel symbolizes light of knowledge – knowledge is power — to be achieved by Endeavour. The conical cap in the shape of the fore of a pipal leave on the wheel signifies the height or peak of modern civilization that has made way beyond stars.

The pipal tree also symbolizes Indian heritage of meditation for achieving knowledge. The band on which the sentence আলোক পথৰ অভিযাত্ৰী আমি is inscribed in Assamese meaning ‘we are the seekers of light (knowledge) in thorny paths’ is obliquely folded at the bottom as a base on which the name of the institution,চিলাপথাৰ মহাবিদ্যালয়(Silapathar College) is inscribed.
